LARNACA AIRPORT MASTER PLAN
CYPRUS
The master plan for the International Airport in Larnaca Cyprus includes a four star hotel, a shopping/entertainment centre, visitor parking, the Motor City car track with leisure facilities and a Business, Conference and Exhibition Centre on the old airport site within the development zone.
The master plan development area has the potential for 130,000sqm (1,400,000sqft) of development. Apart from the demolition of the old airport terminal buildings and the barracks, all the lands are readily available for construction.
The Hotel and Shopping/Leisure Centre adjoins the airport to the eastern side with the Hotel connecting directly to the arrivals and departures areas. The shopping/leisure facilities adjoin the Hotel to the east and are configured to encapsulate the open space at the approach to the airport to the north.
Further development potential to the west will fully enclose the central zone. To the south the Sky City Motor Track is positioned away from other facilities and within easy access to the transportation infrastructure, extending along the southern boundary from west to east. Running parallel to the airport to the east is the site of the old airport to be demolished and replaced with an exhibition hall, conference hall, time shared offices and a restaurant.
